Social Media Helps Employers Get the Word Out
Social media is no longer a promotional tool just for small business and professionals looking to establish their brands. Increasingly large organizations with well-established brands and customer bases are using internet tools to promote every aspect of their business and better engage with not only consumers, but potential employees. At the same time job hunters visit social sites to get a well-rounded sense of how an organization runs its business. A recent CareerBuilder survey of 2,534 U.S. hiring managers and 4,498 full-time U.S. workers offer these findings:
44% of companies with more than 1,000 workers use social networking to promote their companies.
35% of job seekers visit those sites or job listings.
26% source fast facts about the organization.
23% research information on career paths.
16% look for evidence that working there is fun.
16% research employee testimonials.
9% if job seekers research studies that the company has conducted.
