DuckDuckGo.com Search Engine

Remember the old days (three years ago which I supposed in "Internet Time" is the really old days) when Google was a simple search engine? There was as simple search form, you typed in your keywords, and you received decent results.
In reading one of my favorite e-newsletters, Search Engine Land, I learned about a new search engine with a funny name, DuckDuckGo.com. If you forget the playful name and logo for a moment, what you'll find is that DuckDuck delivers some "quackingly" good results combined with a simple user interface.
Use DuckDuck just like any search engine. If you're searching for a proper noun or phrase, make sure to put it between quotation marks (here's a sample search on my name so you can see what I mean).
DuckDuck's results are very accurate, and seem to eliminate the junk that so often shows up in other search engines. I like the icons next to each search result. I only wish that DuckDuck would show the total number of results.
Click on the little pull-down menu next to the magnifying glass icon to limit your search to specific types of sites and results. If you like to control how your results appear click the "Settings" link on the upper navigation and you'll find a slew of things you can customize. Click the "Goodies" link and you'll see a ton of cool options, from pre-defined searches to search syntax hints.
Finally, unlike Google which tracks your searches and shares that information with advertisers (and yes...your Google searches CAN be traced back to you), DuckDuck does not track any of your searches or clicks. DuckDuck even has a cool tutorial that shows what Google tracks, and what they don't.
SMILE! MAKE SOMEONE'S DAY & BE NICE :)
